How to save space for a washing machine

In many Soviet apartments, tenants face the same problem. Namely, there is nowhere to put a washing machine.

Usually there are several options that are considered. You can put the machine in the kitchen. You can go to the hallway, here you really have to tinker with laying pipes, but also an option. And you can put it in the bathroom, as many do. But often, after installation in the bathroom, do not turn around. Things pile up in such a way that they cannot be reached, and there are also gaps on all sides with which there is nothing to do.

So in connection with all this, I wanted to offer a simple option. So, you can combine a place for a typewriter with a place for water pipes by placing one above the other. Still, we cannot completely get rid of pipes, and sometimes the space above them is wasted. The solution is a reliable stand for a washing machine.

Bosch washing machine installation and repair can be entrusted to specialists. At the same time, you will receive a guarantee for promptly performed work and high-quality spare parts.

Why is it necessary:

  • Save space
  • Hiding pipes
  • We use the stand as a cabinet for household chemicals
  • Due to the fact that the machine is higher, it is more convenient to get washed things, since you do not have to bend so low
  • Original and beautiful

Making a stand is not that difficult. In the one in the photo, a 50mm beam was used, and pieces of chipboard of the appropriate sizes were screwed on top and on the sides. For reliability, you need to use more screws, not too short.

The legs are screwed to the floor with corners, and those, in turn, are dowel-nails to the concrete floor. We attach the stand to the walls with the same dowel-nails, passing them through the timber.

If, according to the project in your apartment, the bathroom has a thin concrete cabin, which was lowered into your apartment during the construction of the house on a crane, you need to drill our wonderful design with dowels to the load-bearing walls. To do this, the dowel-nails must be longer and attached to thick walls passing through the thin walls of the booth.

Someone may doubt: “Will this thing withstand a washing machine, it is heavy with us, and it vibrates strongly during the spin cycle.” So on such a stand several adults can jump. The washing machine stand from the above photos has been successfully used for more than five years.
What is important to consider in order to ensure reliability in use is that the surface of the stand should not be tilted. Or be slightly inclined towards the wall. This is important, because otherwise during the spin cycle, the time of greatest vibration, the washing machine may move out and fall off the pedestal. For reliability, you can tie the back legs of the machine to limit its movement.

And a few more words about the implementation. The stand can be tiled.

A hole is made in the back of the machine in the stand for hoses and wires. The door is just a sawn piece of chipboard lined with tiles and "sticking" to the magnet. Inside you can make a backlight with a switch.
